I got a phone call from Cheryl, Seth's sister about playing in his band for Juneteenth celebration in Hartford, CT. Seth would be flying in from Iceland but would only be bringing Jon, his piano player, with him. The group included Bill on Guitar, Nelson on bass, Jon on piano, myself on drums and Seth out front on vocals. We did a practice run of the show at the High Noon Saloon in Norwich, CT on Thursday and performed at Juneteenth in Hartford on Friday.
The show went well and Seth was the ultimate performer. It was a pleasure playing with Jon, Seth's MD, who flew in from Iceland with Seth to perform at the Wadworth Athenaeum. Nelson filled out the bottom end on 5 string bass and Bill's guitar solo work complimented Seth's singing style especially on the Prince material. Seth not only impressed the audiance with the Icelandic Folk Song "Modir Min I Kvi Kvi" , which he sung in Icelandic but also dazzled them with "Every Sunday" an original House Music styled single which is currently released in Europe.
